Anna, Ascent community member of the month!

Anna McCracken was one of Ascent's first members and our early morning trooper. Check out what Anna has to say about her fitness experience and inspirations.

  1. Why did you decide to join our Ascent Community? I decided to join Ascent for two reasons. One because I wanted to really recommit to my health and wellness, and two because I want to support an awesome, woman owned small business in our community and I think Marissa is a fantastic coach.

  2. What do you enjoy most about being apart of the Ascent Community? I love the warm, connected feel of Ascent and how supported I feel in working towards my wellness goals

  3. What are your favorite activities to participate in? At Ascent my favorite activities are the 10min grinds at the end of classes. Outside of Ascent I love playing frisbee, hiking, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing

  4. Do you have any words of wisdom or motivational quotes to share with the Ascent Community? Accountability is huge! Knowing that people at Ascent are waiting for me to show up and be my best self is a huge motivator to get up for those early morning workouts

  5. What is your favorite exercise to do while at Ascent? Well I have recently improved my kettle bell swings so I'm digging those! And I'm closer to doing a pull-up than I have ever been in my life which is pretty sweet!

  6. Do you have any fitness goals you are working towards achieving? I want to feel overall stronger and more confident in my body. I am recently coming back from a major injury and want to be sure that I am taking care of my body in the best way possible so I can do all the things I love to do for a long, long time. In the summer I hope to run a half marathon with my sister. 

  7. What is your best memory of being outdoors? In August 2016 my dad, sister, and I hiked the Wonderland Trail around Mt. Rainier. The impetus for the trip was my dad's 60th birthday. This was such a special time to be together and also an amazing experience to see this mountain that we admire every day from many different perspectives

  8. What is your favorite food to indulge in? Oh potatoes!! I love all things potatoes. Fries, mashed, baked, hash-browns, home-fries, curly fries, lefse, scalloped, tater tots, you name it, I love them. My most favorite potato indulgence is steak fries dipped in ranch. 

  9. Do you have any adventures you are training for? Hmm...nothing in particular but I would love to summit Mt. St. Helens and through hike The Enchantments sometime soon-ish. 

  10. If you could be anyone for one day, who would you be? I'm still working on being the best me but if I could be anyone for a day I would have to say Peekaboo Street--she is an Olympic skier and was my heroine as a kid. I wanted to be a downhill skier just like her so sure, I'd love to see what that's like.
